I have been working with adult children of narcissistic parents and with individuals seeking to navigate romantic relationships with narcissistic partners since 2016. This is a population that is often misunderstood and underserved in the counseling field, and I’ve always deeply enjoyed working with this resilient population. I first became aware of Dr. McBride’s work and recovery model when I was still in graduate school and have been recommending Will I Ever Be Good Enough to my clients for several years. I have integrated various parts of the recovery model in my work with clients, and I’m excited to finally be trained and certified in this model so that I can facilitate a healing process for adult children of narcissistic parents.
I primarily work with adults and couples who are seeking relational counseling. I also enjoy working with people who have experienced complex trauma, which is interpersonal trauma that has occurred over time in the context of relationships, whether that be with a parent, significant other, friend, or other family members. I often utilize EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy with clients who’ve experienced trauma and find that EMDR can be integrated with Dr. McBride’s five-step recovery model for adult children seeking to process and heal from emotional injuries and negative core beliefs about themselves.
My practice is located in Richmond, VA and I provide teletherapy to clients across the state of Virginia and the District of Columbia. I’m an out-of-network provider, and I can provide clients with documentation to submit to insurance at the out-of-network benefits level. I’m available for free 15-minute phone consultations. Please feel free to reach out via email or phone if you’re interested in scheduling an initial phone consultation.
