Dr. McBride’s 5-step recovery model has been a powerful tool in both my personal healing and my clinical work with adult children of narcissistic parents. As a therapist, I’m grateful to have a structured, effective framework that goes beyond just talking or venting. Clients often come in feeling lost, guilty, or emotionally exhausted. Through this model, they begin to reconnect with themselves and experience self-compassion. This approach helps clients let go of false hope, speak up for themselves, and start trusting their intuition. It is a self-discovery process.
I’m deeply passionate about helping adult children heal from narcissistic abuse. It’s profoundly rewarding to witness clients shift from self-doubt to confidence and clarity. I chose to be part of the WIEBGE therapist registry because I believe deeply in the power of this work, and I understand how hard it can be to find a therapist who truly gets the complexity of narcissistic parenting, especially in a world that minimizes and judges these experiences, even within our own families and social circles. I specialize in working with adult children of narcissistic and emotionally immature parents, and I help them heal and love themselves. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling unseen, invalidated, or stuck in abusive family dynamics. Together, we create a space where they can grieve what they didn’t receive, make sense of their story, and begin to feel a sense of peace, agency, and worth.
I offer virtual sessions throughout Colorado, Texas, and Virginia. I am a private-pay provider and do not accept insurance. I offer group therapy for adult children of narcissistic parents and workshops for healing the inner child. My work is trauma-informed, attachment-focused. I utilize EMDR (Eye movement desensitization reprocessing), Parts Work, and Inner Child Work in my practice.
