Therapist Referral Network

Chelsey Brooke Cole (Online only in KY and TN)

When you’ve been narcissistically abused, especially by a mother or maternal figure, you need safety, nurturance, understanding, and compassion in order to heal. You need to know that therapy is a place to be validated and accepted. You need to be seen, heard, and unconditionally accepted.

You also need to have faith in how the therapist is guiding you through the healing process. And this is exactly what Dr. McBride’s 5-step recovery model helps you with. It offers sound, supportive tools for not only you (the client), but also for me (the clinician). Being able to provide my clients with the “Will I Ever Be Good Enough?” book and recovery model has been a game-changer in my practice. I recommend it to every child and daughter of narcissistic mothers because it lays the foundation for long-lasting healing and peace.

I’m honored to be a part of the WIEBGE registry because it matches client’s needs with therapist’s specialties. Having been narcissistically abused myself and having worked with countless survivors, I know how important it is to find the right kind of therapeutic support. I’m so blessed to do this work and I hope to be of help to any and all who reach out!

I’m a licensed psychotherapist offering telehealth counseling to those in Kentucky and Tennessee. Currently, I’m private pay only and work with women, men, children, families, and couples. I’m also a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist, Registered Play Therapist, speaker, author, and coach specializing in narcissistic abuse, relationship trauma, anxiety, infidelity, emotional abuse, post-traumatic relationship syndrome, and healthy strategies for introverts and empaths.

I take a very collaborative, compassionate approach to the counseling process because I’ve seen that the most important part to healing is experiencing a safe, supportive relationship. I create a space where you can feel seen, heard, understood, guided, and supported. I believe in helping my clients leave each session with a sense of clarity, hope, empowerment, and belief that positive change is always possible. Ultimately, I want all of my clients to know and feel… you’re never really alone. I’m here with you!

While understanding and insight are certainly great places to start, many people feel “stuck” at some point in the therapeutic process. This is often because you’re trying to “think” your way to healing. Trauma-informed therapy recognizes the complex ways trauma can impact your life, mind, and body, and makes your psychological safety a top priority in the healing journey. I help my clients find or restore their sense of safety in themselves, their relationships, and in the world at large by taking a trauma-informed therapeutic approach.

As a telehealth counselor, I can offer sessions via phone or video. For video sessions, you will receive a secure, HIPAA-compliant link through a therapy-specific platform called Simple Practice. You will also have the option to receive appointment reminders and will be able to e-sign and complete all necessary paperwork through your Simple Practice client portal (access given at the beginning of our work together).
