Elaine Jackson, LPCC, IMFT (Middleburg Heights, OH and Online in OH) – Level II Certification
A warm welcome to you! My name is Elaine Jackson and I'm excited to be part of this registry in order to help you take your next healing steps. My passion is to help people have the healthiest and happiest relationships they can. I have worked for 30 years extensively with people who have come, unfortunately, from very unhealthy backgrounds. These backgrounds include narcissism, other personality disorders, addictions, abandonment, and abuse of all types. As adults then, people often struggle with love and in knowing how to parent. However, when these deficits are evident and undeniable, the victims can acknowledge them and move fairly smoothly into recovery. With narcissism, on the other hand, the problems are subtler and involve key attachment figures. It is extremely difficult for victims to even accept that they ARE victims. It can be less threatening, and often suits the family system, to see oneself as flawed. This is extremely confusing and can even be traumatic. Dr. McBride’s model allows one to grieve the multiple losses of being raised by or loving a narcissist while extending understanding to all.
In my work as a Christian counselor I have talked to so, so many people who feel misunderstood, judged and prematurely pressured to forgive the narcissist in their life. This adds another level of confusion, guilt, and shame. Many doubt their faith as they struggle with these issues. You will find in working with me a compassionate, accepting, gentle-yet-firm presence to walk with you and guide you through the darkest passages of your life.
Please call my office and the secretary will assist you in scheduling a personal, tailored assessment with me. They will also help you with insurance questions. I offer HIPPA compliant telehealth services for Ohio residents. As we begin step one of Dr. McBride's five-step model, be encouraged. The future can be brighter!
