Therapist Referral Network

Justine Polster, Ph.D., LCSW. RSW. (Telehealth for CO, DE, FL, IA, IL, PA, UT, VA & Internationally Australia & New Zealand Residents). Individual & Families. – Level II Certification

During my 30 years of professional experience, including more than 15 years as a college professor, training other therapists, I have rarely come across such a practical and essential training as that offered by Dr McBride in the WIEBGE 5-step recovery model. Dr McBride’s guidance towards recovery from narcissistic mothering offers tremendous hope for healing from overachieving (and I would certainly include myself in this) and self-saboteurs (I’ve also been here more than twice). The WIEBGE model offers a tool for clinicians and clients to collaborate in a healing relationship to guide recovery from narcissistic mothering and for clients to build authentic, loving relationships in their lives.

Beginning with acknowledging the grief of not receiving good enough mothering in your own life, the WIEBGE model of journaling and reflection and exploring the way in which this your mother’s jealousy and lack of good enough care has unfolded in truly impactful but unseen ways in your life. I am so excited to be part of the WIEBGE registry both because I have had the privilege to be a part of this wonderful training and the resources offered by Dr McBride, but also to offer services directly to women for whom my services and work are intended to serve.

As a woman who specializes in working with other women, specifically women who have experienced childhood relational trauma, I have spent most of my 30 years in practice working with families, children and women who have experienced relationship harm at the hands of caregivers. I am knowledgeable and passionate about struggling well beyond these experiences, about resilience and authenticity beyond childhoods in which we did not receive the good enough care and protection and kindness to fully show up in our own lives every day. I want to work with you. So that together we can find that part of you that can be who you were meant to be every day, to be present, and hope filled that you are good enough in every moment and relationship in your life and with those you choose to love.

I have a wide range of experiences including international practice in both the United States and New Zealand, having served clients in settings such as Community Mental Health, Community Crisis Centers, College Counseling services and supervising teams of nursing and social work practitioners and private practice. I have graduate degrees in psychology, family therapy and social work and bring a wealth of experience and passion to my work. I am currently telehealth only. I am currently licensed to practice in 8 U.S states (CO; DE; FL; IA; IL; PA; UT; VA), and New Zealand. My fee is $175.00 for individuals and $225.00 for families. I also offer a few income-based sliding scale fee appointment times.
