The “Will I Ever Be Good Enough?” Five Step Recovery Model was introduced to me by a colleague as a potential training opportunity. I bought Dr. McBride’s book first to educate myself on the model before being trained in it. But what I got out of it was a deep healing experience as well! Even as a therapist, never before had I thought of my challenges with perfectionism and in parenting as the result of the narcissism I grew up with in my family of origin. The book provided me with language, and structure for my own opportunity to heal wounds in this area and be highly motivated to dig deeper into this topic with clients in my practice. Now as a Certified WIEBGE therapist, and a Certified Brain spotting therapist, I feel I offer a unique ability to help clients process their grief and trauma related to growing up in a home with narcissistic attachment figures. As Dr. McBride explains in her book and videos, we must grieve the love we didn’t feel, and the children we didn’t get to be in order for any further growth and healing to occur. You truly can walk in the truth that you are Good Enough!
Counseling is not just a career for me, but a calling! I am a person of faith and am able to incorporate faith-based principles into therapy per client’s request. I see adult and teen individuals, as well as couples and families. I take several insurance plans and also offer private pay sessions.
