Dr. Karyl McBride is offering therapists an opportunity to treat adult children of narcissistic parents and to help stop the legacy of distorted love.

Therapist Training for Healing the Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers

This workshop is provided for therapists and mental health professionals who are interested in treating adult children of narcissistic parents. It is designed to follow the five-step recovery model designed by Dr. McBride and discussed in her recent book: Will I Ever Be Good Enough? Healing the Daughters of Narcissistic Mothers.

The training provides you with the complete program that is offered for clients along with accompanying video training for therapists on each step of recovery. This means that each section of the video training gives you the daughter lectures first with all the homework PDFs and then follows with a special segment for the therapist on that particular step.

The training concludes with a segment of Q&A involving Dr. McBride and one of her colleagues, Sue Seiler. (If you want to check out what is offered in the client workshop, which is included in this one, please go to this link to read the description.)

  • Bonus Q&A segment involving Dr. McBride and one of her colleagues, Sue Seiler.
  • An opportunity to join our therapist registry

Testimonials from Level II (Online) Therapist Training Sessions

"I absolutely loved this training! I loved how we were able to interact, ask questions and have deep discussions which really helped the learning process. This workshop gave me essential insight and foundational learning on how to support clients struggling with relationships with narcissists. I am glad to have taken this training and highly recommend it!"

"Helpful to be among other therapists and have conversations on cases and problems we face with clients. Highly recommended to anyone that is using the 5-step recovery."

"This two days of Therapist Training shared with Dr McBride and the group have been very enriching. I have learned a lot thanks to Dr McBride's clear approach and ability to explain complex topics in a simple way. She makes the practical learning process extremely enriching and brings clarity and light to the sometimes difficult and confusing healing journey that daughters, sons and partners of narcissists go through."

"This training was extremely beneficial in learning how to apply the 5 step recovery model to adult children of narcissistic parents! The size of the training was perfect to have open conversations, case study examples and support from Dr. McBride and other trained professionals. I learned a great deal and look forward to practicing these tools in my practice."

"The workshop is what I wish all training would be. The limited number of participants as well as Dr. McBride's warmth, expertise, and vulnerability created a climate where narcissism could be explored on more than an academic level. All workshops generate some awareness of the way the subject matter affects us as professionals. But this workshop was unique in that we could safely look at our own narcissistic wounds and how they affect our personal and professional lives."

"I highly recommend this Level II training. When I saw the Level II training agenda, I was concerned that it was simply going to be a review of the Level I material and the book, and that it would not be worth the investment of money and time. Fortunately, that worry was put to rest the first morning of the training. Dr. McBride provided clinical content that was not in her books and her Level I training. In addition, there was tremendous value from having just a small group of therapists, as the discussion of questions and the sharing of different ways we approach client challenges, while using Dr. McBride's model, was very helpful. The sense of community and relationships built during this training was something I had not expected and added so much enjoyment to the two-day training. It made me wish that I had attended Level II training in person years ago, as it would have been even more fun spending time with Dr. McBride, Michelle, and everyone over the course of a weekend. The online training was very well organized and professional, and I would take another online, small group training with Dr. McBride. I appreciated how respectful Dr. McBride was of everyone's time, she stayed on schedule and the short breaks every hour helped too. Dr. McBride created an environment of respect and safety which enabled deep discussion and sharing. I learned a lot and was able to apply the learning in sessions right after the training. I highly recommend this training and am eager to attend other live training with Dr. McBride. I also want to express appreciation for Michelle Stack, Dr. McBride's executive assistant, for her role in managing and participating in the training. Thank You."

"When I first heard the workshop was all weekend I was a little hesitant. I have to say I am glad I signed up, the group was small but very dedicated and the questions/discussions were very interesting. Still thinking about some of the discussions today. The weekend went by fast and it was fun as well as informative."

"I loved meeting Dr. McBride and other like mind therapists doing great hard work!"

"Dr. McBride's warm, personal style created an environment in which the participants felt at ease discussing difficult topics and disclosing their subjective experiences doing this work."

"I didn't know what to expect going into the workshop. I have read a lot, done a lot of my own work on healing with Adult Children of Narcissistic Abuse and yet I felt I needed to attend this training for "just see what else" I can learn. I am so thankful that I did. I connect with other members of this community, received feedback about cases and personal growth and development that was brilliant. I found my sticking points and edges of growth from this training. The group felt like a homecoming that was open and warm and allowed for growth. I am so thankful for this time I spent in this workshop and would recommend it to anyone looking to work with this population."
