Therapist Referral Network

Rev. Sheri Heller, LCSW (Montreal and Ontario Canada and Online in NY and Canada)

Dr. McBride’s 5-step recovery model for adult children of narcissistic parents offers a comprehensive framework to treat the specific type of complex trauma and the core relational wounds incurred through narcissistic parenting. As a survivor myself I appreciate Dr. McBride’s compassion and a deep awareness of the suffering and process of recovery for survivors of narcissistic parents. Even though I received life-changing therapy it took me many years of figuring out what exactly I was up against. As Dr. McBride points out many clinicians simply are not versed in treating the traumas incurred through parental narcissism. Having a blueprint is a tremendous help for adult survivors who are confused and often not believed. As a clinician, it’s a wonderful guide for leading my clients through their recovery process and affirming for them that their pain is indeed real. It’s an honor to be a part of the WIEBGE registry.
